The Lighthouse

Standing tall on the summer solstice, the Akranesviti lighthouse on Iceland’s western shore keeps watch. Just beyond this point the Atlantic Ocean crashed relentlessly upon the rocky coast while gulls made their distinctive calls. I paused here to feel the wind in my face and fill my senses on the longest day of the year.
