The Factory

As dawn broke upon the cracked desert landscape the towering Factory Butte dominated the view. I scrambled up one of the many ridges and, breathing heavily, pointed my camera straight at the feature. Soon the sun would rise above the horizon and cast dramatically long shadows but for now, in the cold stillness of the early morning, it was just soft even light as far as the eye could see.
