Pairing Your Prints

The legacy collection features a wide range of landscapes, from rocky desert formations to tropical lush valleys. Each one is unique in its own respect and will stand on its own, though you have the option to create your own pairs or sets and write your own narrative. There are a few points to keep in mind when selecting prints that will be displayed together.

Address the Space

Examine the room where the prints will be displayed. Are the walls dark or light? What are the predominant finishes? Is there a lot of natural wood or metal? By getting a feel for the space itself you can decide if you would prefer to have the print blend in with the existing furnishings in a more minimalist way, or you may choose a print that is a different color entirely to create an exciting focal point that draws your attention. Whichever way you choose, it's important to keep in mind how the prints will be displayed and interact with what is already in the room.

Create the Pairs

This step is highly personal, but it is important to consider the contrast of the prints. Maybe you want a pair with similar colors that compliment the color of a room nicely. Or perhaps you are more interested in the composition of the photo and want something with a lot of detail that is fun to look at closely. By pairing a more abstract scene with one that is more detailed you can create a nice balance between the two while still preserving the qualities that make each one unique on its own.

Consider the Color

If you need some help in selecting a particular color scheme, keep some general points of color theory in mind:

  • Red - Warmth, Energy, Excitement

  • Blue - Intelligence, Reflection, Calm

  • Green - Refreshment, Peace, Balance

  • Orange - Comfort, Warmth, Abundance

  • White - Clarity, Purity, Sophistication

  • Black - Glamour, Security, Sophistication

By pairing images by color you can combine the attributes of certain colors to perfectly match the mood of a space. By having a primarily blue image close to a green one, for example, you would tap into both colors and create a blend that has elements of calm reflection and refreshing balance. You can go even further and create pairs of different sizes if you want to emphasize one color over another. There are many possibilities, and this is where you have the freedom to create your own story that matches your space.

I hope you enjoy the collection and are able to find a set that is a perfect match for your space.

With thanks,
